The third-generation Scarlett 18i8 is the perfect audio interface for recording engineers and producers who need to adapt to their recording environment, wherever they are.
It offers eight analogue inputs: four mic/line inputs, two high-impedance, high-headroom instrument inputs and four additional fixed-line inputs on the rear. An optical input allows for expansion of up to eight additional channels for larger recording sessions. And with improved A-D and D-A conversion, your recordings and playback will sound clear and pronounced up to 24-bit/192kHz, vital to helping you perfect your mix.
Scarlett 18i8 features four of Focusrite’s best-ever-performing third-generation Scarlett mic preamps: with optional Air setting to reproduce the Air effect of their original ISA mic preamp, giving your vocal or acoustic recordings a brighter and more open sound. There’s a pad on every mic preamp to accommodate higher-level signals without clipping.
Scarlett 18i8 offers two extra line outputs over the previous generation, and speaker switching technology for dual monitor setups. Two independent headphone outputs allow for both engineer and artist to monitor during recording sessions, and a pair of virtual loopback inputs allows you to capture a stereo feed of any combination of hardware input and software playback channels – making podcasting, live streaming and sampling tasks easier.
Scarlett 18i8 is designed to stand up to days on the road, and connects straight to your Mac® or PC via USB cable.

From that inital inspiration when Air Studios commissioned Rupert to build them a mixing console without compromise, which spawned Focusrite as more people wanted one, Focusrite has evolved and represents a niche in the industry that no other manufacturer can match. From recording studio mainstays such as the ISA828 and ISA430 MKII, the acclaimed Dante equipped RedNet range of networked audio interfaces to accessible USB and Thunderbolt audio interfaces, Focusrite delivers on its heritage with a sound that is adored world-wide!
Musos Corner proudly showcase numerous Focusrite products in our 90 Degree Studio facility. The studio is built around a Dante audio system, featuring RedNet HD32R Pro Tools HDX to Dante interfaces, RedNet 2 ADDA Dante interfaces, AM2 personal monitoring stations, RedNet 4 and MP8R remote dante equipped preamps. We also have a pair of ISA430 MKII channel strips, an ISA828 8 channel preamp, a Liquid Channel channel strip and an ISA Two two channel preamp.
Focusrite products have been integral pieces to many of our projects including the recording studio at Hunter TAFE Tighes Hill, with a pair of ISA430 MKII’s, an ISA428, two RedNet 5’s, one RedNet HD32R, a collection of AM2’s, a few RedNet 2’s and some MP8R’s. Their Ourimbah campus recording studio also features some ISA828 preamps as their front end.
The Newcastle University Creative Industries department has a collection of RedNet MP8R’s, AM2’s, HD32R’s and ISA products throughout their facilities, allowing interconnectivity between spaces allowing large collaborations and projects that were almost impossible without the use of Dante enabled products.
