The Stratocaster, affectionately known as the "Strat", has featured prominently in just about every musical genre ever invented since it's invention in 1954. The classic Stratocaster shape is probably the most emulated design of any instrument to date - when most people think of an electric guitar, the Strat usually comes to mind. The usual Strat setup sees three single coils doing all the work, with a 5-way selector giving players plenty of choice in the tone department. The 2017 Fender American Professional Series replaces the American Standard Series which has been in production since 1987. The iconic design history of Fender instruments has always been one of evolution not revolution and the new American Pro series is no exception.
