With a natural application of breath this model can produce clear, authentic clarinet tone. A fine blend of easy playability and excellent pitch makes the YCL-450 an outstanding choice to begin working on expression and nuance, which can significantly shorten the path to proficiency.
Barrel's outer diameter: A shape that promotes efficient breath flow through the instrument. The barrel gets slightly smaller toward the mouthpiece for easy blowing and flexible response to expressive nuances. Slightly larger at the lower end. The adjustable thumb rest can be set to a height that is most comfortable for individual players, reducing thumb discomfort and fatigue.
It can be set to make fingering comfortable for players with small hands and can be readjusted as necessary as the player grows and becomes more proficient.
The thumb rest also includes a ring that can provide a convenient location for strap attachment when needed.
