Fender Mustang Bass (1972) Vintage Electric Bass – Natural

The 1972 Fender Mustang Bass is a genuine vintage short-scale bass and the last original instrument Leo Fender designed for the company that bore his name. With its comfortable 30" scale, punchy split-coil pickup and classic Fullerton construction, it offers big, characterful tone in a compact, easy-playing package.

Punchy, Fat Short-Scale Tone

The Mustang's split single-coil pickup delivers a warm, round and surprisingly fat low end, with a punchy attack that cuts through a mix. The shorter scale adds a thick, vintage character that suits rock, indie, soul, punk and recording work alike.

Simple volume and tone controls make it easy to dial in everything from deep, thumping lows to a brighter, more defined growl.

Comfortable, Easy Playability

The 30" scale, slim maple neck and balanced offset body make the Mustang Bass exceptionally comfortable to play, especially for guitarists, players with smaller hands, or anyone who prefers a more compact bass.

With its rustic, stripped natural finish, genuine vintage Fender construction, and a sound and feel that has won over professional players for decades, this Mustang Bass is a fantastic instrument for the stage, the studio or the collection.
