Boveda BVMSK49-LG Large Instrument Starter Kit – 49% RH

The Boveda BVMSK49-LG Large Instrument Starter Kit provides maintenance-free, two-way humidity control for guitars and other large wooden instruments stored in cases. Boveda’s 49% RH formula automatically adds or absorbs moisture as conditions change, helping reduce the humidity fluctuations that can contribute to cracking, warping and other wood movement.

The kit includes three Size 70 Boveda 49% RH packs, one Double 2-Pouch Holder and one Single 1-Pouch Holder. The holders provide a soft protective barrier around the humidity packs while allowing water vapour to pass through to the instrument case.

Automatic Two-Way Humidity Control

Boveda’s two-way system responds automatically to the environment inside the instrument case, releasing moisture when conditions become dry and absorbing excess moisture when humidity rises. Boveda recommends 49% RH for wooden instruments, which should generally be stored within a stable 40–60% RH range.

Large Instrument Starter Kit

The BVMSK49-LG is designed for larger wooden instruments and cases, including guitars, basses, cellos, upright basses, bass clarinets and bassoons. The Standard B49 version is intended for most climates.

Double and Single Protective Holders

The included Double Holder accommodates two Boveda packs, while the Single Holder accommodates one. Boveda recommends keeping the humidity packs inside the supplied holders when used in an instrument case.

Please Note: Always place the Boveda packs inside the supplied holders before using them in an instrument case. Do not mix different Boveda RH levels or use other humidification products in the same case.
