Pirastro Tonica New Formula 4/4 Violin String Set – Medium Tension, Ball End

The Pirastro Tonica New Formula is a complete four-string set designed for full-size 4/4 violins. Combining a silvery steel E string with synthetic-core A, D and G strings, it delivers a lively, rounded sound with the warmth and responsive playing feel of the Tonica series.

The New Formula provides an open, direct tonal response with improved projection and reduced background hiss, making it suitable for violinists seeking clarity and smooth transitions between strings.

Responsive Synthetic-Core Construction

The A, D and G strings feature flexible nylon cores designed to respond readily to different bowing styles. The New Formula provides a comfortable left-hand feel while maintaining warmth and clarity across the set.

Balanced Four-String Set

The standard set includes a silvery steel E string with a ball end, an aluminium-wound A string and silver-wound D and G strings.

Its medium-tension configuration provides a balanced playing response across all four strings.

Warm Tone and Clear Articulation

The Tonica New Formula is designed to produce a lively, well-rounded sound with improved brilliance and projection. Its responsive construction supports smooth string crossings, controlled quiet playing and clear articulation.
