The Alvarez Artist AC65HCE is a hybrid classical acoustic-electric guitar designed to combine the sound and feel of nylon strings with playing characteristics familiar to steel-string guitarists. Featuring a solid A+ Western Red Cedar top, African Mahogany back and sides, and a classical cutaway body, it offers a warm, responsive acoustic character with convenient access to the upper frets.

Its 48mm nut width, radiused fingerboard and 14th-fret neck joint provide a contemporary alternative to traditional classical guitar construction. Equipped with an LR Baggs StagePro EQ and Element pickup, the AC65HCE is designed for both acoustic playing and amplified performance.

Solid Western Red Cedar Top

The AC65HCE features a solid A+ Western Red Cedar soundboard designed to produce a warm, open acoustic response.

Traditional Spanish fan bracing supports the top, providing balanced projection and an even response across all six strings. African Mahogany back and sides complement the Cedar soundboard with a warm tonal character.

Hybrid Classical Cutaway Design

The AC65HCE combines traditional nylon-string construction with a contemporary body and neck design.

Unlike a conventional classical guitar with a neck joint at the 12th fret, this model joins the body at the 14th fret. Its cutaway body provides convenient access to the higher frets for melodic passages and extended chord voicings.

Comfortable Narrower Neck

The Mahogany neck features a semi-gloss finish, a radiused Indian Laurel fingerboard and a 48mm nut width.

This narrower nut and radiused fingerboard provide a playing experience familiar to guitarists transitioning from steel-string instruments while retaining the sound and feel of nylon strings.

The guitar features a 650mm scale length and 22 frets.

LR Baggs StagePro Electronics

The AC65HCE features an LR Baggs StagePro EQ and Element under-saddle pickup system for amplified acoustic performance.

The side-mounted preamp includes a backlit tuner, volume, bass and treble controls, and a phase control. These adjustments allow players to shape their amplified sound when connecting to compatible amplifiers, mixing consoles and sound systems.

Natural Finish and Traditional Hardware
