Danelectro The Breakdown BR-1 Overdrive Guitar Pedal

The Danelectro The Breakdown BR-1 is a vintage-inspired overdrive pedal designed to deliver natural, expressive guitar tones with adjustable gain. Inspired by a classic late-1960s pedal circuit, it offers six stages of breakup ranging from subtle drive to powerful overdrive and distortion.

Featuring straightforward Break Up and Volume controls, the BR-1 allows guitarists to shape their sound while retaining the character and dynamic response of their instrument and amplifier.

Six Stages of Vintage-Inspired Overdrive

The six-position Break Up control offers a range of drive levels to suit different playing styles. Positions 1–3 provide softer overdrive suitable for subtle tonal enhancement, while positions 4–6 introduce stronger saturation and punch for more aggressive guitar sounds.

Simple and Expressive Controls

The dedicated Volume control adjusts the overall output level, allowing the pedal to be balanced with the rest of your signal chain. Its analogue design provides a responsive playing experience suitable for blues, classic rock and expressive lead playing.

Compact Pedalboard Design

The BR-1 features a compact enclosure with standard quarter-inch mono input and output connections. Its 9V DC centre-negative power requirement allows it to be integrated into a compatible pedalboard power setup.

Please Note: This pedal does not have a battery compartment. A compatible 9V DC centre-negative power adaptor is required and is sold separately.
