KNA BP-1 Portable Banjo Pickup
The KNA BP-1 is a portable piezo pickup designed to amplify the natural acoustic sound of a banjo without requiring permanent instrument modifications. Its lightweight wooden sensor mounts to the side of the banjo bridge, capturing string vibrations and transferring them to a compatible amplifier or mixing system.
Featuring a passive design and a detachable tailpiece-mounted output jack, the BP-1 offers a convenient amplification solution for banjo players performing live or recording.
Natural Banjo Sound
The wooden-encased piezo sensor captures vibrations directly from the banjo bridge, helping reproduce the instrument's natural acoustic character. Its passive construction requires no battery and offers an alternative to microphone amplification with reduced feedback potential.
Installation Without Instrument Modification
The sensor attaches to the side of the bridge using a fitted mounting slot. Additional shims are supplied to accommodate narrower bridges, allowing the sensor to be installed securely without drilling holes or permanently altering the instrument.
Convenient Tailpiece-Mounted Output
The BP-1 includes a detachable output jack with a clamping bracket that attaches to compatible banjo tailpiece hardware. Its standard quarter-inch connection allows the instrument to be connected to a compatible amplifier, preamp or mixing system using a conventional instrument cable.
Please Note: Confirm that your banjo bridge and tailpiece hardware can accommodate the pickup and output bracket before installation. An amplifier and instrument cable are not included.
