Alvarez MD60 Herringbone Masterworks Dreadnought – Natural

The Alvarez MD60 Herringbone is an all-solid Masterworks Series dreadnought designed for strong projection, articulation and dynamic response. The exact MD60HB model pairs a solid AAA Sitka spruce top with solid African mahogany back and sides, finished in Natural Gloss.

Alvarez combines these tonewoods with its FS6 forward-shifted scalloped bracing, a bi-level Indian rosewood bridge, East Indian rosewood fingerboard and real bone nut and saddle. Traditional herringbone-inspired detailing, a tortoiseshell-style pickguard and premium open-gear tuners give the MD60 a classic dreadnought appearance.

Solid AAA Sitka Spruce and Mahogany

The MD60 uses a solid AAA Sitka spruce soundboard with solid African mahogany back and sides, giving the Masterworks model an entirely solid-wood body construction. Alvarez specifically positions the MD60 as a powerful dreadnought suited to flatpicking and strong strumming.

FS6 Forward-Shifted Bracing

Alvarez's FS6 bracing system uses a forward-shifted, scalloped X pattern that provides additional vibrating area around the bridge. The company uses this design to support responsiveness, articulation and balance across the instrument's range.

East Indian Rosewood Appointments

The fingerboard and bi-level bridge are made from East Indian rosewood, complemented by premium mother-of-pearl inlays, ebony bridge pins and a rosewood headstock fascia. A real bone nut and saddle complete the acoustic transmission path.

Natural Gloss Masterworks Styling

The solid spruce top and mahogany back and sides are finished in Natural Gloss. Herringbone styling, a tortoiseshell-style pickguard and premium open-gear tuners give the MD60 its traditional acoustic aesthetic.
